Reviews
The hotel itself is in a nice area (surrounding). Great for a boat trip and close enough (by car) to the next city (Utrecht only 30min away). The room was probably newly renovated and looked very nice. We were provided with a water bottle and it got replaced on the second day. Nice service.
The hotel room was only reachable through VERY steep stairs; there was no notice or question in advance if we are ok with that (elderly people would never reach it or go down; specially with luggage!!); the windows were so old, they couldn't be closed properly so we heard every car passing by (it was raining so quite noisy); the bar was only open on one evening (no advice upfront) and the selection of a cocktail was not possible (after asking it was said they only offer 3, although there were many bottles in the bar). Overall the staff was hard to find; it appeared empty and not sure if in case of an emergency we would find anyone in the evening. The breakfast was a joke. We paid EUR 17.50 (!) and then got the info that they don't arrange a buffet. We were not asked of any preference nor could we do a selection upfront. We got served a few slices of bread 3, 2 butter, 1 peanut butter, 1 jam, 1 plate with 3 slices cheese and a bit of salmon, 2 eggs. We then had to ask for every single thing (can we have another jam etc.). The employee was very kind and brought without hesitation the additional food but maybe it's a personal thing but I don't want to ask 3 times for something during a 30' meal and certainly I don't want to pay 17 EUR for such a small breakfast. Oh and in our room the internet connection was not working (or to say so slowly, we couldn't use it).
Lovely bistro restaurant for a great lunch and service with a great smile.
Friet de luxe with parmesan cheese and truffle mayonnaise combined with lunch salad is highly recommended. 👍
Food is horrible, I have tried 2 different things, atmosphere is fantastic, service is acceptable.
Great hotel at a great location
Joey at the reception was a star, making the checking in and out a swift process. You could feel that there was a great team spirit at the bistrotel. Make you you have frederica the bistro..she is a star and will recommend great wines. Highly recommend.
Stayed here for 2 nights for work and really enjoyed it. Food was fantastic and the room was amazing - a very quiet and relaxed place to stay. Would highly recommend.
Had a nice Christmas dinner. We ate many beautiful dishes in the share dining. Was very rich and surprising. The only minor disappointment was the overly sweet dessert accompanied by an even sweeter recommended cocktail. Overall a nice evening with pleasant service and tasty wines.
Top!
Had lunch several times. Everything is correct! Chef Andre from "het Amsterdammertje" in Loenen and his team created this culinary addition to the Vecht. There is one thing that made me nauseous and that really no longer fits in 2023, almost 2024. The beautiful lobsters "swimming around" in the tank, tied by their legs, waiting for their fate. This afternoon the time had come: 1 beautiful specimen was taken to the kitchen to be cooked, whether alive or not, and prepared for the guest. Pure animal suffering! Why when there is so much to choose from? Reason for me not to come here anymore as long as there is lobster on the menu.
Bah!
